Proposed Analysis: | I am a second year undergraduate undertaking a supervised research project that is being supported and funded by the University of Sussex. We are part of the Predictive Analytics Laboratory, formed in Sussex, which does research in Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Medical Imaging. This project investigates predicting brain shape changes in patients with Alzheimer's disease using Generative adversarial networks (GAN). We are going to implement a GAN model which takes an MRI image of a healthy brain and produces an MRI image of a brain that has Alzheimer’s disease. We will be using the data to train our model to be successful in identifying the changes between different brain shapes related to the disease. Therefore, we won't need any identification within the data, but only the images classified as showing Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the images of healthy controls. We will be formatting and pre-processing the data to improve accuracy of the model and the final result of this project. |
