Proposed Analysis: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive form of dementia that causes memory loss, thinking difficulties, and behavioral changes. Early detection of AD is crucial to improve the quality of life for those with the disease, as some treatments can slow cognitive and functional decline. I will aim to enhance brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data classification for AD. I will work on a graph-based attention neural network that employs structural features of the brain extracted from MRI data obtained from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). I will evaluate the proposed method against the current state-of-the-art vision-based classifier, specifically a convolutional neural network (CNN). My study will aim to contribute to the development of a reliable and effective tool for early detection of AD.
