Proposed Analysis: | Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. Early diagnosis of AD is crucial for timely intervention and treatment, but it remains a challenging task due to the complexity and heterogeneity of the disease. We propose a multimodal deep neural network model that integrates three different types of data from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) database: electronic health records (EHR), single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Our model leverages the complementary information from each modality to learn a joint representation of the patient's cognitive status and disease stage. Based on this model, we will also develop a graphical user interface (GUI)-aided diagnostic system that allows clinicians to interactively explore the multimodal data and the model predictions for each patient. We demonstrate the usability and utility of our system through a case study with a real patient from the ADNI database. |
