Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator
Principal Investigator's Name: Miguel Ángel Araque Caballero
Institution: Klinikum der Universität München
Department: Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research
Proposed Analysis: Multi modal analysis of longitudinal changes in structure, metabolism and function in preclinical and prodromal AD. A special focus will be given to studying multiple factors that can predict worsening of any such neuroimaging measures, like amyloid-beta, phosphorillated tau and ApoE. In a further step it will be investigated how neuroimaging measures relate to cognitive decline and symptom onset. This will be done with multivariate pattern analysis methods such as Support Vector Machines and Relevant Vector Regression. It is expected that the inclusion of mutli-modal longitudinal data in these procedures will improve predicting power and specificity.
Additional Investigators
