Proposed Analysis: | Effect of rare genetic variants on the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease In this project we plan to analyze the effect of rare genetic variants on the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and the effect on AD-related biomarkers (CSF and neuroimaging). The standard statistical approaches used to analyze SNP data cannot leverage the information on rare variants because they occur only once in the entire dataset. Thus, we will develop graph-based approaches to allow for aggregating information within the same gene or genetic pathway and related these new measures to quantitative phenotypes. |
