| Proposed Analysis: | The aim of this project is to establish the time-dependent relationship between cognitive and functional decline in Alzheimer’s disease using databases already available to Novartis, i.e. NACC, Rush and/or ADNI. The proposed measures to assess cognition are the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative Preclinical Composite (APCC) or a proxy of APCC , and the proposed measures to assess function are the instrumental activities of daily living (iADL), for example assessed with the functional activities questionnaire (FAQ). A non-linear mixed-effects model incorporating relevant covariates and within- and between patient variability will be developed to predict the functional outcome at time t, accounting for the full time course of the preceding cognitive decline between time 0 and t. |
