Proposed Analysis: | The main objective of the "Data Mining for Atypical Brain States" project is to analyse the relationship between age and brain structures in Healthy Control (HC) subjects, and how these links are modified by Alzheimer’s (AD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). This possible variation could be potentially used to diagnose the disease. The project contemplates different stages such as: -Data collection: Gather information from different data sources that provides brain scans from different subjects (HC, AD, MCI). -Data pre-processing: Raw data transformation with Freesurfer 6.0 -Data transformation: Manipulate the data in order to be readable by data mining tools such as R, Knime or Python. -Data selection and feature selection: filter information considering different variable such as age or gender and retain relevant attributes for the analysis. -Learning algorithms implementation and evaluation. |
