| Proposed Analysis: | Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common and debilitating disease that influences one or more joints of the body. Emerging evidence demonstrates that OA is also a risk factor for cognitive deficits. In the present study, first, we examined the cross-sectional relationship between OA and baseline hippocampal volumes among cognitively normal older people. Second, we further examined the association of OA with change in hippocampal volumes over time. The findings may help shed some light on the neuropathological mechanisms by which OA increases the risk of cognitive deficits. |
