Proposed Analysis: | We plan to use deep learning, specifically in a Convolutional Neural Network, to determine specific disease patterns in the brains of AD patients and to identify and validate a quantitative biomarker from 18F-FDG PET images that would aid clinician’s image assessment for early and accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease. We aim to train a CNN which can distinguish between AD and other brain abnormalities, providing not only specific diagnosis, but additional insight into the functional nature of the disease. If successful, we then hope to train the network to predict the progression of other brain abnormalities to Alzheimer's. |
