Proposed Analysis: | When FDG PET brain scans are analysed by comparison to a normative database (Scenium Siemens), white matter hypermetabolism is occasionally demonstrated. However, the increased uptake cannot be verified qualitatively or by using standard SUV analysis and it is uncertain whether it is a real finding or an artefact related to processing or normalisation. If this is a real finding, its significance has not yet been determined. We would like to access the ADNI database to assess the white matter uptake in healthy patients and in patients with cognitive impairment to better understand the significance of this finding. |
