| Proposed Analysis: | Examination of hippocampal subfield volume differences between groups of participants with hippocampal sclerosis of aging, participants with Alzheimer's disease neuropathology, and participants with other/no significant pathology. We hypothesize that participants with hippocampal sclerosis will present with lower CA1 and subiculum (hippocampal formation subfields)compared to both participants with and participants without Alzheimer's disease neuropathology. Request is for MRIs of participants with neuropathology data available, along with neuropathology information for these participants. Hippocampal subfield segmentation will be performed using FreeSurfer v6, which has shown robust volume estimates with respect to scanner and scan variation (data not shown), and statistical analysis of group differences will be performed using ANCOVA models adjusting for common covariates. |
