Proposed Analysis: | Purpose: To determine whether radiomics features of hippocampus from T1-weighted and FLAIR images can (1) differentiate the apolipoprotein E4 (ApoE4) gene status, and (2) differentiate cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease, such as the β-amyloid (Aβ1–42) and tau proteins (tau). Methods: A total of XXX subjects from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) database (XXX HC, XXX MCI, XXX AD patients) were included in the training set. Radiomics features (n=558) from the bilateral hippocampi were extracted from MRI including T1-weighted images and FLAIR. After feature selection, machine learning models (random forest, extra-trees, AdaBoost, XGBoost, and LightGBM) with subsampling methods were trained to differentiate the ApoE4 gene status and CSF biomarkers. The prediction performance of the classifier was validated in the test set (A total of XXX patients). |
