Proposed Analysis: | This is a follow up to a previous application that expired in October 2019. This is ongoing research and we would like to continue it. Details below. We are interested in examining the interface between the gray and white matter that is commonly referred to as the superficial white matter. Owen Phillips previously developed and deployed a multimodal cortical pattern matching technique which sampled the diffusivity at the gray/white interface. This work was on a small sample of Alzheimer’s disease patients and was published in Human Brain Mapping: “The superficial white matter in Alzheimer's disease” http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/hbm.23105/abstract. The ADNI data would provide an opportunity to reproduce our previous results. In addition, we would like to explore if this superficial white matter is predictive of conversion for MCI to AD. |
