| Proposed Analysis: | We are investigating the relationship between apathy severity and striatal grey matter concentration among several disorders, one of which being Alzheimer's disease. We have already investigated this relationship in Huntington's disease and Schizophrenia and would like to explore the structural similarities of the basal ganglia across these disorders, including Alzheimer's disease. This multivariate analysis would include analyzing MRI scans of Alzheimer's disease patients and controls to compare structural brain patterns, specifically in the basal ganglia, in relation to apathy. These results would then be used, along with results from other disorders, to compare the brain structure of the basal ganglia across the disorders/diseases. |
