Proposed Analysis: | To improve the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer' disease, FUJIFILM focuses on building several AI models, and plans to integrate these models into commercial products in future. ADNI data will be used for Machine Learning to build these AI models in FUJIFILM’s medical and image technology R&D team internally, but no original ADNI data will be included in these models for commercialization (the models for commercialization may contain statistical information learnt from the study using ADNI data). Three AI models we are focusing on are as follows. The first one is an image segmentation AI model which can segment brain anatomical regions automatically. By segmenting the anatomical regions, the volume and shape information of anatomical regions such as hippocampuses can be measured by computers. The second one is a multimodal AI model which can predict the progress of Alzheimer' disease by using MRI Image and other clinical information such as cognitive scores and demographic information as input. By predicting the progress, MCI patients who will convert to AD can be diagnosed automatically. The third one is a multi-modal AI model which can estimate pTau value in CSF by using MRI Image and other clinical information such as cognitive scores and demographic information as input. If we can build the third model successfully, invasive CSF inspections can be reduced a lot. |
