Proposed Analysis: Recently, we have developed a new version of the "stringing" methodology (transforms general high-dimensional vectors into functional data, see for example our study DOI:10.1007/978-3-030-47756-1_16. Particularly, we believe our proposal would give new insights into the study of functional connectivity via alignment of blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) signals obtained from fMRI. This approach already showed interesting results in a study of functional connectivity for Alzheimer's disease (see the article DOI: 10.1089/brain.2018.0636). We observed that our methodology already produces better results than the cited article, but so far simulations are our only resource. We are interested in studying the available fMRI datasets related to Alzheimer's disease in order to test the suitability of our proposal. Our purpose is merely academic and any publication resulting from it would cite ADNI.
