Proposed Analysis: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. Many studies have demonstrated abnormalities in functional connectivity (FC) of AD. However, most of the previous studies on the FC were stationary. The dynamics feature of brain activity of AD is largely unknown. Here, I plan to investigate the alternation in dynamic functional connectivity with the measurement proposed recently: Functional Stability (FS, Li et al., 2020). It could help us understand the dynamic functional architecture changes in ADs. Specifically, we will first calculate the FS in each group. Then a multi-class SVM classifier will be used to extract the weight map in discrimination the AD from other groups. Then we will further compare the weight map with a recently proposed AD specific alternation map of grey matter volume. In the end, we will combine the ALLEN mRNA expression dataset to link the weight map with the mRNA expression map and try to clarify the potential, influential gene for the dynamic functional connectivity alteration.
