Proposed Analysis: Project Title: Patient Identification and Retention (PIR) Engine and Early Warning System (EWS) for Increasing Participation of Minorities and Underrepresented Population in Clinical Trials for Central Nervous System (CNS) Diseases Including Alzheimer's Disease. Project Aim: Our primary objective is to increase participation of African descent and other underrepresented minority patients in Alzheimer's Disease (AD) clinical trials by use of our patient-centered recruitment and retention machine-learning-based solution, which will systematically screen and analyze electronic health records and other data sets. The EWS will help detect patients earlier than the clinical diagnosis, giving individuals an opportunity to enroll in clinical trials, take preventative measures and pursue treatment early. Hekma.ai is a medical data science company that helps to identify and retains patients in clinical trials using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Our goal is to identify patients of African descent and underrepresented minority patients in Alzheimer's Disease clinical trials. We will be using AI and ML based solution to screen and analyze electronic health records and other data sets to help identify the minority group. The EWS model will identify patients who are most likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease, earlier than the clinical diagnosis, giving individuals an opportunity to enroll in clinical trials, take preventative measures and pursue treatment early.We plan to achieve our goal using various AI and ML algorithms such as natural language processing (NLP), word-embedding and vectorization, Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), graph neural network and Hidden Markov model. We plan to publish our findings in major peer reviewed journals in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia, clinical Informatics and AI.
