Proposed Analysis: | Reusing normal control subjects from ADNI in an Essential Tremor study Essential Tremor (ET) is the most prevalent movement disorder, yet the underlying mechanisms are still not clear. Due to the limited sample sizes, most of the related studies are under power. We would like to augment our local collected dataset with more control subjects from large open datasets. Due to the mean age of our ET cohort being around 70 and we need age matched normal control (NC) subjects, PPMI and ADNI are the most suitable datasets for us to use. The reason is that PPMI and ADNI are studying a comparatively old cohort, we have applied for PPMI access and got approved. With augmented NCs from ADNI, we will carry out VBM and surface based analysis of the 3T T1 MRI images and compare the structural differences between ET and the augmented NC cohorts. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the collection and sharing of this large aging imaging dataset, this means a lot for the development of science and imaging studies. |
