Proposed Analysis: | Bivariate associations between tau-PET and blood measures of AD pathology, resting heart rate and blood pressure, and neuropsychological measures of cognitive function will be assessed using Pearson’s r correlation. Regression models will test the hypothesis that differential levels of tau pathology are associated with similar cognitive performance across racial/ethnic groups. In addition, regression models will also test the hypothesis that differential levels of autonomic function predict cognitive performance across racial/ethnic groups. Further, independent samples t-tests will be used to compare the tau positive and tau negative subjects on the neuropsychological tests and on markers of ANS function, as well as compare Caucasian vs minority subjects on cognitive performance as a function of tau-PET status and ANS functional status. Means and standard deviations will be reported and interpreted. Statistical significance will be assumed at an alpha value of 0.05 and all analyses will be conducted using SPSS Version 25 (Armonk, NY: IBM Corp.). |
