Proposed Analysis: | 1. Identify the role of the glutathione pathway in cognitive functions such as memory. 2. Identify the role or association of one or more of the TMEM14A, RPS16P5, MLIP-IT1, MIR5685, MCM3, LRRC1, GSTA7P, GSTA5, GSTA3, GSTA2, GFRAL, GCM1, FBXO9, FAM83B, ELOVL5, ABCA7, CLU, CR1, PICALM, PLD3, TREM2, and SORL1 genes in the hippocampus and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex with the glutathione pathway. 3. Identify possible mutations (SNPs) in genes that might have an epigenetic impact with respect to transcription start sites of the identified genes from the above original list of genes. 4. Carry out Chi-squared analysis of the identified SNPs from step 3 above between AD and control subjects to help determine if there is any relationship between such mutations can form the basis of an AD biomarker. |
