Proposed Analysis: We intend to submit a methodological development grant to NIH this coming fall, where we propose the use of individual level longitudinal partial networks of a number of markers and variables to a) compare the network of normal controls (CN) to matched participants with MCI and participants with AD. This will allow us to establish whether networks of CN are different from MCI/AD participants in terms of their temporal evolution but also in their structure. If data allows it, we will b) evaluate whether changes in the interplay among variables at the individual level (in terms of the temporal network structure) are predictive of converting to MCI and/or AD later on. These are person-level models that allow individual predictions. The rationale and methodology is based on my work on the predictive value of intraindividual variability (IIV), or behavioral inconsistency, in cognition, health and affect (5R01AG050720-02). It has been shown that IIV can serve as a person-level predictor of larger upcoming changes that is more sensitive than performance based measures. The proposal also builds on my recent work on multivariate person level models (see eg. R-package `bmgarch`, or https://doi.org/10.1037/met0000357).
