Proposed Analysis: Financial capability is an individual’s ability to manage or direct the management of their financial affairs and is an important life skill to maintain independence. A descriptive cross-sectional study is proposed to use the FCI-SF (included in ADNI 3 since 2016) to investigate and compare the financial capability of 220 people living with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) with that of people living with Posterior cortical atrophy (PCA), Behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD), Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB) and Parkinson’s disease (PD). ADNI 3 data on healthy controls and mild AD groups are requested for use to make comparisons between these groups and against healthy control. Access to these data will greatly improve the robustness of the proposed study which aims to provide a deeper understanding of financial performance and financial capability in people living with a variety of dementias. Hypotheses to be tested 1. It is hypothesised that FCI-SF score is a robust measure of financial capacity in patients mildly affected (i.e., CDR or CDR-FTLD 0.5 to 1) by PCA, bvFTD, DLB and PD when compared with AD. 2. The secondary hypothesises are as follows: a. It is hypothesised that patients mildly affected (i.e., CDR or CDR-FTLD 0.5 to 1) by AD, PCA, bvFTD, DLB and PD show distinct neuropsychological profiles of financial capability as measured by the FCI-SF. b. It is hypothesised that patients mildly affected (i.e., CDR or CDR-FTLD 0.5 to 1) by AD, PCA, bvFTD, DLB and PD show differences in financial performance as measured in a 12-month time-series of financial transaction data. c. It is hypothesised that clinical severity will not associate with FCI-SF score in all disease groups in patients mildly affected (i.e., CDR or CDR-FTLD 0.5 to 1) by AD, PCA, bvFTD, DLB and PD.
