Proposed Analysis: With the continual improvement on life expectancy, aging related health issue has become a challenge for clinicians. Age-related cerebral small vessel disease (ArCSVD) is common in older people and it could lead to dementia. However, there is no effective therapy for ArCSVD. Since vascular pathology may contribute to cognitive impairment, we hypothesed that the anti-platelet therapy (APT) could reduce the risk of dementia among patients with ArCSVD. In our study, we aim to study the association between APT and ArCSVD utilizing data from ADNI database. First of all, we will identify the patients with ArCSVD by clinical profiles and neuro-images reviewing. And then we will investigate that whether the use of APT agents is associated with lower risk of dementia outcome using a series of statistical methods, including but limited to cox regression analysis, competing risk regression analysis using Fine-Gray methods and linear mixed effect models.
