Proposed Analysis: | Motivated by recent collections of biomedical imagings, we would like to develop new functional data analysis tools using imaging as responses and predictors. To analyze the images, we propose to develop a new smoothing technique - multivariate splines over triangulations - to handle the irregular domain of the objects of interest on the images. We also would like to derive the theoretical support of the proposed functional regression models. We would like to apply the proposed method to the spatially normalized Positron Emission Tomography (PET) data of Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). |
