Proposed Analysis: | Quantification of localized 18F-florbetapir (amyloid) uptake within the brain stratified by clinical diagnostic levels of cognitive impairment The goal of this project is to quantify 18F-florbetapir uptake in different regions of the brain, and correlate these data to patients’ clinical diagnosis with regard to levels of cognitive impairment. This will be accomplished by cross-registering 18F-florbetapir PET images with CT images taken of the same patient. CT images will be segmented to separate relevant regions of the brain, and uptake will be quantified in each of these regions in the cross-registered PET images. The patients’ clinical status at the time of PET imaging will be correlated with 18F-florbetapir uptake to look for regional differences in 18F-florbetapir uptake that may be related to clinical diagnosis. This project would require access to 18F-florbetapir PET images, and the corresponding CT images of these patients. |
