Proposed Analysis: | Mayo Clinic and Google Health are collaborating to document information about the generalizability and fairness of Tau PET scans synthesized on the basis of other PET and MRI modalities. As part of this effort, we’re testing a model trained on Mayo Clinic Study of Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center data using a holdout set obtained from ADNI. In order to facilitate closer collaboration, it would be helpful if we (Gerardo and Karan from the Google side of the collaboration) had access to the imaging data which Mayo Neurology is using from ADNI. We believe that generating reliable diagnostic imagery based on more broadly available clinical scans opens the possibility of more confident approaches to treatment for those in populations with less access to advanced clinical research facilities. In particular, we’d like for the Mayo researchers to be able to share with us structural MRI, FDG PET, Tau PET and PiB PET from a sample of ADNI patients for whom all these imaging modalities were available. Note that we are not requesting any biospecimens, and that the study has already been approved and is ongoing at the Mayo Clinic, and what we are requesting is for 2 engineers from Google to be added to the list of users approved for this data. |
