Proposed Analysis: For my master's thesis that I plan to present findings in May 2022, I am investigating the utility of peripheral blood methylation markers for late-onset Alzheimer's Disease. I aim to use ADNI's whole genome methylation data as a high-quality external validation set to report findings of prediction performance on my trained statistical and/or machine learning models. The aims of my thesis are as follows: 1. Is their potential for peripheral blood methylation markers to serve as biomarkers for aMCI individuals that transition to Alzheimer's? 2. Is their potential for peripheral blood methylation markers to be able to discriminate between MCI, Alzheimer's, and Cognitively Healthy (multiclass classification)?
