Proposed Analysis: | We report in an article named "Investigating the Genetic Characteristics of Hippocampal Volume and Plasma Aβ in Community-Dwelling Populations" the results of a bioinformatic study exploring SNP loci, and genes associated with hippocampal volume and plasma Aβ, and their heritability and genetic correlation in an ethnic Han community cohort. We found a gene, PTPRT, and a locus in this gene, rs6030076, to be associated with hippocampal volume. The reviewers asked us to 1) find out whether the minor allele in rs6030076 is more dominant in demented patients compared with normal people; 2) conduct replication analysis in another cohort for the PTPRT gene. Therefore, we hope to apply for the following data: 1) the frequency of rs6030076 alleles in demented people and healthy controls, and the demographic information of these two groups; 2) the hippocampal volume and sequencing data of PTPRT gene.
