Proposed Analysis: | I am a fourth year phd student working with Rongjie Liu at Florida State University. I intend on fitting a Gaussian/Binomial linear regression mixture model using either some type of variational method or an EM algorithm. For the linear regression component we intend on using MMSE scores as the independent variable and general demographic information as well as connectograms derived from fMRI data as the dependent variables. The EM mixture approach will hopefully identify clusters or subpopulations of subjects. Moreover, as we are using a linear model there will be definite interpretability aspects to the regression coefficients that correspond to the connectogram. We are hoping that this may show certain connections in the brain or subnetworks that degenerate with alzheimers or some other type of cognitive issue among older adults. Moreover, at some point we intend on examining functional connectivity. I primarily need access to t1 and t2 fMRI images as well as MMSE scores for subjects. I would prefer to have datasets with resting state fMRI data as well as a dataset with task based experiments if possible. |
