Proposed Analysis: We are planning to: 1. Analyze the functional abnormalities of the amygdala caused by pathology of Alzheimer's disease. Amygdala would be segmented into 9 nuclei (using Freesurfer software) to provide more information.(strustural MRI, fMRI) 2. Study the relationship of the functional abnormalities of amygdala with AD pathology and clinical symptoms, particularly those related to the amygdala function, such as anxiety, stress, emotional memory etc.(clinical symptoms) 3. Previous studies have revealed close functional and structural connection between several amygdala nuclei and the hippocampus. We would study whether the amygdala-hippocampus connection is changed in Alzheimer's disease, and whether it is related to the clinical symptoms such as memory and cognitive deficit. For these purposes, we apply for multimodal MRI data (structural MRI, fMRI,DTI),PET imaging for Abeta, and clinical assessment of AD patients and healthy control.
