Proposed Analysis: Clinical trials in neurodegeneration disease acquire serial MRI over several years. An important step is to ensure the incoming data matches the same person scanned several years before, among hundreds of other scans. High levels of anonymisation make it challenging to match new and existing MRIs of the same person in clinical trial analysis. To solve this problem, in this project, we will develop new AI-based tools to match incoming MRI with the previously available data and develop an image retrieval system based on the content. Specifically, the project aim to map the MRI to a radically smaller embedding space, such that the embeddings of MRIs from the same patient are close together in the latent space, while the embeddings from different patients are sufficiently far apart.
