Proposed Analysis: | The aim is to create and validate an algorithm-based model for the automatic classification of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) cases according to selected patterns, based on brain magnetic resonance images (MRI). For this purpose, MRIs from control elders and patients with AD will be used as input data. Techniques of image segmentation (such as thresholding, edge-based and region-based methods) will be used to underline image features and properties. The analysis will be performed in R environment and different packages will be tested (e.g., maZda, fmri, etc). An evaluation of the possible statistical correlations between image patterns and patients' data will be carried out. The compiled image patterns will serve as input for machine learning models (such as RF, ANN, etc). |
