Proposed Analysis: We are going to train a Deep Neural Network classifier to attempt to accurately predict patients with Alzheimer's disease. Previous studies have used convolution neural networks (CNN) or recurrent neural networks (RNN) to try and perform classification. We believe these prior models on their own do not adequately account for the spatio-temporal nature of fMRI data in a holistic manner (i.e. previous models treat space and time independently). We would like to train a hybrid model that incorporates both the space and time of fMRI data effectively by merging concepts from CNN and RNN.
