Proposed Analysis: My doctoral project was dementia, and I have been engaged in dementia research since graduation. I have a keen interest in dementia research. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, and is the most common cause of dementia, accounting for an estimated 60%–80% of all cases. Approximately 152 million people worldwide are estimated to have AD by 2050. Thus, the condition will bring a heavy burden on families and healthcare systems. Moreover, healthcare systems also bear huge financial expenditures to provide services for patients with dementia. Therefore, researchers have expended significant effort to characterize the pathogenesis of AD. Despite such dedication and investment, the pathological mechanisms of AD remain poorly understood. I would like to further discover scientific questions related to AD based on clinical patient data and expect to discover new directions for research in AD.
