Proposed Analysis: | Our team is working on neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease(AD), Parkinson's disease(PD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Unfortunately, although a large number of researches have been done, the mechanisms are complicated and still remain unclear, and currently, there are no effective treatments for AD, PD, and ALS. On the other hand, artificial intelligence plays an important role in medicine, especially in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. We expect to find the relationship between disease, genes, molecules, and drugs with machine learning based on different algorithms. Basically, that is to find their similarities and connection and then use animal experiments to make validation. With the idea of “network similarity”, we quantify the interactions between the drug targets and disease-associated proteins to predict the associations between drugs and diseases located in the same network neighborhoods. Basically, we are going to use a network-based approach to make predictions and validation in drug repurposing for neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore ADNI is one of the important databases for our study. Hopefully, we can get your approval. |
