| Proposed Analysis: | I want to perform a scientific investigation of the feasibility of machine learning methods, specifically, semi-supervised and active learning methods for cost-efficient early diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease from MRI scans. Machine learning models typically require training on a large amount of annotated medical image data to ensure reliable diagnosis of diseases. Several semi-supervised and active learning methods have shown success in disease diagnosis in recent years to help tackle the expenses and time required to obtain annotations for medical imaging data. However, there have been limited efforts in applying these techniques specifically to diagnose Alzheimer's Disease. This highlights the motivation for the investigation. |
