Proposed Analysis: | Our rodent datasets suggest that the activity in the retrosplenial cortex (RSP) is elevated in the prodromal phase of AD, before gross cognitive deficits arise, consistent with studies showing elevated metabolism in the RSP that occurs with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), as occurs during the prodromal phase of AD. We want to examine human imaging data to assess if activity in the RSP region of humans (Broadmann areas 29 and 30) that demonstrate dementia, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), impaired but not classified as MCI, or no impairment. |
