Proposed Analysis: | Title: Outlier-robust Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging parameter estimation: a validation study. Description: The presence of imaging artefacts in diffusion-weighted images, typically due to motion, may lead to suboptimal parameter estimation in terms of accuracy and precision of the extracted metrics. The aim of our analysis is to validate an outlier-robust framework on a (sub)set of in vivo MRI data. In this context, we believe that the multi-shell diffusion series available in the ADNI database would help us show the importance of an outlier-robust tensor fitting approach in a diffusion processing pipeline. The diffusion MRI data would be processed with a conventional tensor estimation technique and with the outlier-robust framework that we aim to propose. The results of the two pipelines would then be compared to draw the main conclusions and possibly validate our framework. |
