| Proposed Analysis: | I am a computational biologist specializing in developing statistical and machine-learning methods for identifying genetic interactions from genomics data. I plan to apply several of our methods (including a nonparametric Bayesian method and a deep learning method) to the ADNI data in order to identify a) key gene variants involved in large numbers of genetic interactions (i.e. epistatic hotspots) b) pairwise and higher-order interactive effects between variants in known causal genes to reveal critical pathways and gene interactions in the determination of Alzheimer's disease. |
