Proposed Analysis: | Several serious problems exist regarding image analysis within the modern medical system, including a shortage of medical imaging diagnostic talent, diagnostic errors stemming from traditional qualitative analysis, and low diagnosis efficiency due to lengthy image reading time for doctors. Hence, medical image computing is the most noteworthy technology at present. The prevalence rate of Alzheimer's disease continues to increase. According to World Alzheimer Report in 2018, by 2050, 1.52 billion people worldwide will have dementia, which is three times as much now [1]. Therefore, early prevention and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease have high clinical and social value. The deformation of hippocampus and other brain regions are indicators of AD. Deep learning algorithms could help doctors perform high-accuracy brain region segmentation works on MRI scans. Therefore, this project will propose an AD related brain region segmentation algorithm and a visualisation of segmentation results to assist the early diagnosis of AD. |
