Proposed Analysis: | Multi-site data is crucial in modern research and clinical studies as it enables the generalization of knowledge from many sources and provides proof of the reliability of quantitative studies like diffusion MRI. The main scope of the PhD thesis using ADNI data is the estimation of microstructural parameters of the brain based on the diffusion MRI retrieved from different sources (subjects in a wide range of age, with various diseases) using modern deep learning architectures. This thesis has a clear direction and will use a new cutting-edge powerful technique called federated learning that enables us to aggregate multi-source data. This will increase the statistical power of quantitative analyses and evaluate how the findings on one site are reproducible in other, grasping a recent problem in neuroimaging called the “reproducibility crisis”. |
