Proposed Analysis: | Recapitulating the work of Ossenkoepele et al [2022], this proposal seeks access to the ADNI data for investigating the correlation between Amyloid and tau PET distribution in the brain and the risk for cognitive decline. The objective of our research is to enhance our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease, enable early detection as well as determine pathological drivers of clinical progression. Previous studies indicate that it is not simply the presence of tau as measured by Tau PET but the distribution (temporal vs Neocortex) that can be predictive of progression. Leveraging ADNI’s comprehensive dataset, including clinical, cognitive and neuroimaging data, we aim to identify potential correlations, predictive factors, and risk indicators. By integrating Amyloid and tau PET-positive imaging biomarkers with cognitive assessments, we will employ statistical methods to elucidate the relationship between PET-tau and amyloid distribution and cognitive decline. Our findings will be disseminated through comprehensive report, adhering to data security and confidentiality protocols. We kindly request ADNI’s consideration and collaboration in this important research endeavor. We wish to include NC, MCI and AD participants that have at least 2 epochs of data and that have amyloid PET and tau PET |
