Proposed Analysis: The involvement of the hippocampus in Alzheimer's disease (AD) is well established and documented. Furthermore, studies have indicated cerebellar involvement in the early stages of cognitive decline in various neurodegenerative diseases. Despite being a tissue typically less affected and less studied in AD, the cerebellum also exhibits sexual dimorphism. Consequently, I aim to investigate potential cerebellar abnormalities and determine whether they exhibit sex-dependent characteristics or change over time. Additionally, understanding glial changes is crucial for comprehending AD progression and other conditions accompanied by cognitive deficits. Astroglial biomarkers, in particular, play a significant role in unraveling the mechanisms underlying AD and related diseases.
