Proposed Analysis: | Frank's sign (FS) is a diagonal crease in the earlobe extending from the tragus across the lobule to the posterior edge of the auricle. Many previous studies have found that FS is associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, and cognitive impairment. This study focuses on the quantitative association between Frank's sign (Diagonal earlobe crease) and WHM (white matter hyperintensity) as a biomarker of cognitive impairment. The Frank's sign is planned to be automatically segmented from T1-weighted image using deep-learning approach. The deep-learning model will be adopted on the big dataset (ADNI). Thereafter, we can obtain quantitative information such as volume, length, etc from predicted Frank's sign. Finally, we will investigate the relationship between the quantitative values and WMH, which is already known as the biomarker of cognitive impairment. |
